On Monday, the Indian cricket team created a history of sorts by winning a Test series on Sri Lankan soil in 22 years, and their first under new captain Virat Kohli.
While many, including PM Modi to Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the young team on the ‘rare’ win, some pointed on Twitter that it’s Bollywood’s Anushka Sharma who should be congratulated! “Hey babe @anushkasharma ..Well done for making India & Virat win!?? Logic na..u ought to get the bouquets not just the damn brickbats! Hugs???? (sic)” wrote Sophie Choudry . You probably remember how the actress was ‘blamed’ during India’s semi-final match against Australia in the World Cup earlier this year. As soon as Virat got out after making just one run in the match, Anushka became easy bait for mean jokes.
