{"id":1422,"date":"2016-02-01T09:35:16","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T09:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.southasiantimes.com.au\/?p=1422"},"modified":"2016-02-26T10:16:46","modified_gmt":"2016-02-26T10:16:46","slug":"india-exports-first-batch-of-made-in-india-metro-coaches-to-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.southasiantimes.com.au\/?p=1422","title":{"rendered":"India exports first batch of &#8216;Made in India&#8217; metro coaches to Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/southasiantimes.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/made-in-India.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1423\" src=\"http:\/\/southasiantimes.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/made-in-India-300x162.jpg\" alt=\"made in India\" width=\"300\" height=\"162\" srcset=\"http:\/\/southasiantimes.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/made-in-India-300x162.jpg 300w, http:\/\/southasiantimes.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/made-in-India.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Creating a history in country&#8217;s manufacturing sector, a consignment of six metro coaches made in Baroda, India, was shipped to Australia from Mumbai Port on January 29, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The maiden consignment of six metro coaches built in Baroda for export to the Australian government were shipped from Mumbai Port,&#8221; a statement from Ministry of Shipping said.<\/p>\n<p>Measuring 75 feet long and weighing 46 tonnes each, the metro coaches are the first of its kind, India has ever exported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The entire stevedoring operation (loading into ship) of these prestigious over-sized metro coaches has been done in-house by Mumbai Port Trust unlike any other port in India where private operators carry out such operations,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Ever since the launch of &#8216;Make in India&#8217; campaign, the metro coaches have also become the first of its kind export that India is doing.<\/p>\n<p>India will also be exporting 521 bogie frames to Brazil for Sao Paulo monorail.<\/p>\n<p>Three new Metro coach manufacturing units were established in India in 2015.
